Network System Administrator Job Summary:
  • The Network System Admin will be responsible for multiple network operations tasks and administration activities.
  • They will participate in the ongoing support for network systems using current and emerging technologies.
  • Maintains overall network health and carries out network tasks based on business objectives.
  • Responsible for the operational stability, security, documentation, and administration of network equipment.
  • Works well with others in a team environment.
  • The Network Sys Admin is responsible for the operational stability of production data, video and voice network services which requires an understanding of technologies used in services organizations.
  • Candidate must understand OSi model Layers 1-3 and be able to identify production issues with tools such as Wireshark, SysLog, NNMi, and HPOM.
  • Individual must have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Individual must have a functional knowledge of the ITOL V3 framework.
  • Individual must be knowledgeable of firewalls, with experience in Cisco ASA, Checkpoint and Juniper.
  • Individual must be knowledgeable network switching and routing with experience in H3C, Cisco, and Brocade.
  • The individual will work with multiple teams to resolve incidents in the production systems.
  • Individual will also be responsible for conducting planned changes on the Production systems.
  • The candidate should have held at least one or more certificates- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), security certifications (CISSP, Security Plus as examples)
Network System Administrator Background:
  • 2+ years of experience with BS degree or 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree in broad network including some if not all the following: LAN/MAN/WAN experience, with experience in designing/implementing network infrastructure solutions in Windows and Linux/Unix environments; and networking with blade solutions and architectures, i.e. Cisco UCS.
  • Working knowledge of NW security devices, IPSec VPNs, TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, VRF, VLANS, and Load Balancers. Knowledge of network equipment, Palo Alto, Juniper and Check Point Firewall, HP H3C and Brocade series switches and Routers, F5 LTM and APM.
  • Experience with Service Manager, HPNA, and NNMI a plus.
  • Documentation and design work with Visio or other tools in a medium/large enterprise experience with multiple locations.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities while working independently.
  • Interpersonal and relationship skills necessary to work with an integrated team of project managers, developers, quality auditors and other company engineers
  • Ability to converse verbally and in writing with good presentation, communication, organization and time management skills and an understanding of how change management affects others
  • Discipline to follow processes and adhere to standards.
  • Maintain established performance levels to achieve individual and group goals Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs, primary is M-Thu, 3PM est to 2AM est ( 10 hour shifts) with flex to cover planned maintenance on weekends.
  • Public Trust Security Clearance is required for this position.
