Practice Manager Job Summary:
  • The Practice Manager (PM) that will make key business decisions and oversee day-to-day practice operations
  • Works to expand the medical practice to make it more profitable and better meet the needs of the local community by leading the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the administrative and clinical practice.   
  • Directs and coordinates administrative and clinical services for physician office
  • Prepares annual goals, objectives and budgets for operations
  • Establishes work procedures and standards to improve efficiency and effectiveness in assigned regional offices
  • Attends all required meetings and in-services
  • Directs and coordinates all system data for billing and referral purposes
  • Supervises administrative and physician staff to ensure quality of patient care
  • Responsible for staffing, performance reviews and proper training for all employees
 Practice Manager Background:
  • Requires one of the following valid / unrestricted state licences: 
    • Licensed Vocational Nurse (L.V.N.)
    • Registered Nurse (R.N.)
    • Physician Assistant (P.A.)
    • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (A.P.R.N.) / Nurse Practitioner (N.P.)
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) or related degree is preferred.
  • Around 3-5 years’ experience supervising or managing clinical staff, preferably in a physician practice or other small to mid-sized clinical setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting, data and administrative processes, human resource management, medical coding, medical issues and terminology is needed.
  • Able to utilize ICD-9/10, CPT-4, and HCPCS codes to research referral, authorizations, and claims issues.
  • Knowledge of the business relationships between network providers, beneficiaries, and Managed Care organizations.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office) and typing skills are necessary.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to interact within all levels of the organization as well as with external contacts.
  • Must be able to prioritize, plan, and handle multiple tasks/demands simultaneously.
