SSRS Programmer Analyst - Health Plan

Job Summary
  • Generates reports using Izenda, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Crystal Reports and Excel 
  • Builds reporting solutions from start to finish, including database design, relational integrity constraints, OLAP, OLTP, cubes and normalization as required to support requests
  • Creates and manages ETL processes for data using DTS packages and SSIS
  • Analyzes, evaluates and documents data and report requests of business stakeholders to understand and prioritize requests appropriately
  • Develops report requirements and parameters and implementing the report criteria and analysis to accurately produce the requested report/recommendations
  • Produces data and analyses in format appropriate to request including spreadsheets, summary data and graphs
  • Provides data sourcing methodology, resource management and performance monitoring for data acquisition
  • Contributes to the business analysis for reporting requirements.
  • Maintains a solid working knowledge of business intelligence/decision support industry trends and best practices
  • Develops and maintains report schedules, automates reports as necessary, manages the reports request queue and the report development process
  • Determines resource needs for requests and works with their manager and Reports Committee to prioritize
  • Supports information governance and data standardization procedures, documents reports library as well as external data imports and exports
  • Provides external data submission including health plan and 3rd party reporting
  • Documents business requirements in the form of specifications (functional and technical specifications), validates accuracy and obtains necessary input and approval
  • Supports the development of the enterprise data warehouse
  • Develops methods of efficiently delivering data, including web based and standard report based dissemination
  • Participates in interface projects with outside facilities and vendors; resolves interface errors as it relates to data abstraction
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Business, Computer Science or related field strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of MS SQL Server experience with health care data
  • Expert understanding of relational database architecture, database design, relational integrity constraints, OLAP, OLTP, cubes and normalization.
  • Experience building and generating reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Crystal Reports and Excel spreadsheets, scheduling and deploying reports on report manager.
  • Experience in T-SQL and query development
  • Experience in SQL Server 2005/2008/2012
  • Experience with quality and regulatory reporting in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience working with data from EMR applications, preferably NextGen 
  • Experience developing and troubleshooting HL7 interfaces
  • Experience analyzing file structure, using and creating file layouts, and transforming raw data into finished products
  • Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing and business intelligence.
  • Demonstrate experience in analysis and presentation of data required.

  • This position is on-site in the San Diego area and will return to the office as soon as COVID-19 restrictions allow. Candidates must be within commuting distance or provide for their own relocation expenses.
